I just got back from a week in Maui, I miss it already. I've really had enough of the cold and snow! Perhaps you can enjoy the warmth by looking at these pictures from Maui.

In other news, March is really picking up here. I hope to add some features for easier purchasing, so stay tuned.

Need help choosing your new canvas print? Here are a few suggestions!

1/25/2008

I'd love to introduce a new product here at 3scape Photos. We are now offering Museum Mount Canvas Prints! These works of art are printed on premium 9 oz. tight-weave linen-finish canvas. They are beautifully mounted on a 1 3/8” deep stretcher frame and finished with black framing paper and hanging system. To protect your image from scratching and surface damage, the canvas is coated with a clear protective finish that provides a slightly glossy finish without compromising the true look and feel of the canvas. Rubber feet are mounted on the back to protect your walls. Ready for hanging!

11/5/2007

Today I present to you a new look to the front page of 3scape Photos. Is it done? Probably not. It's a start, it's a change, but it's not quite there. The front page will now show today's Photo of the Day, as well as three previous days. The Site Index will still be available, and has also been redesigned to make it easier read. All other site options are staying the same, for the moment. Hope you enjoy the changes!

10/29/2007

You may have noticed a new icon in your address bar. I just implemented a new RSS Feed, which will update daily with a random Photo of the Day from my collection. I will soon be expanding this feature and will change the random photo section to include picks from the feed. Feel free to subscribe, and let me know what you think!

9/26/2007

A few new sections have recently been posted. First, photos from my trip up to the northeastern reaches of Canada are finally online. It's taken me long enough, but give me a break, I've been busy! Also online is a new folder in the More Weirdness section with 3D images. I've just started learning about 3D modeling and rendering, so I'll post my trials and errors here for all to see. Maybe at some point I'll post some animations as well.

In other news, I've started playing around with my new Canon 40D and am thrilled the say the results are everything I expected and more. The quality of this machine is so much higher than that of my old 10D. I do plan on keeping my 10D however, and possibly converting it for infrared (IR) use.

That's all for now, hopefully I'll be getting more photos online soon.

8/28/2007

Well, I just pre-ordered my Canon 40D Digial SLR Camera from Amazon. It looks like the demand is high, but they're estimating a pretty reasonable shipping date for me. Hopefully they make good on that estimate!

8/21/2007

Now visitors can chat with me live, if I'm online. So if you have any questions, or just want to say hello, feel free to visit the Contact Me page. You'll find a chat box on the right side of the page.

8/20/2007

Exciting news! Canon today announced the long anticipated 40D DSLR. This camera has been on my wish list for a while now, and boasts a slew of exciting new features, including:
  • 10.1 MP APS-C sensor
  • Digic III processor
  • Integrated Sensor Cleaning System
  • Improved 9-point auto focus
  • 3 inch LCD screen
  • 6.5 frame per second shooting
  • Custom shooting modes
  • And a whole lot more...
The camera starts shipping sometime next month, but can be pre-ordered on Amazon. I know I'll be ordering mine shortly!

7/19/2007

I'm back from Canada now, after a few altered plans, about 4300 miles on my vehicle, and more French than I care to hear for a long while. To say the least, this was definitely an adventure that I will probably not repeat. However, I got a few photos that I will hopefully share very shortly.

6/7/2007

Preparations for the big motorcycle trip are well under way. I'm waiting for some parts to come in so I can finish prepping the bike. Camping gear is pretty much set, as are maps, etc. Getting close!

In other news, I've recently started uploading *some* of my photos to ShutterStock.com. This is a great place for stock photographers to market their images. However, all of my most unique images will remain on this website only, so if you need unique images then please let me know. And, as always, prints will continue to be available here in many sizes.

Finally, I will soon be adding Gallery Wraps to my product selection. This is a fantastic fine-art option, printed on canvas and stretched on a wood frame, ready for hanging. Please stay tuned!

5/25/2007

Well, no news for a while, I've been extremely busy. The Canada trip planning is moving along, please visit the Trans-Lab section from the main page for the latest on that. I hope to have more photos online soon, that have been stored for a while now. Please check back soon!

2/20/2007

Happy Mardi Gras 2007!

I just came back from New Orleans where I celebrated Mardi Gras for 4 days. Unfortunately I was unable to stay for Fat Tuesday, but the rest of the event was a blast. I took a bunch of photos which should be online shortly.

In other news, I'm preparing for a long-haul motorcycle expedition to the northern reaches of Canada - the Trans-Labrador Highway to Newfoundland. I'm looking for the generous support of sponsors to assist me with my preparations. Please click here for more details about the ride, and thank you in advance for your support.

1/27/2007

Well, it seems that so far my new implementation of tags is a success. I'm still working on adding appropriate tags to my images, and refining the search engine, so please bear with me. In the mean time, you can help by adding tags to my images as well. If you see a photo that's missing an important tag, please feel free to add it! Also, if you have any other comments or site feedback, please feel free to contact me.

1/5/2007

Three of my photos will be showing in the Zoom! Juried Photography Exhibit, at the Bloomingdale Museum. The exhibit will be open from January 20th through February 24th, with a reception on Jan. 26. Come out and see the show, I'm expecting there will be a lot of great work to see.

1/1/2007

Happy New Year!!

Best wishes to all my visitors. Make a resolution this year - Help me save up for some gear upgrades. I'm currently saving up for a Canon 5D camera. Start today, buy some reasonably priced photos!

12/12/2006

I've now finished a new Photo Tag feature for the website! All images can now have viewer-defined tags (keywords) that make searching for photos easier than ever. You can just search for certain tags using the search bar on the right, browse the list of popular tags already defined, or even add your own. Stay tuned, more is on the way!

12/7/2006

In an effort to better please my visitors (and keep you coming back), I've implemented a weekly poll. Every week I'll post a new question for you to ponder, and hopefully from this information I'll be able to add content and make changes that make this site more enjoyable. So, look to the right, and start voting!

10/2/2006

I've just returned from a 2 week trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar in Eastern Africa. This was an absolutely fantastic trip - 8 days on safari visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, the vast Serengeti, and Lake Manyara. We toured with Ranger Safaris, the largest safari company in Tanzania. I recommend them very highly, as our guide (Gaby) and driver (JB) probably the best around. The trip concluded with a few days on the island of Zanzibar, where we relaxed, toured Stone Town, and did some SCUBA diving in the Indian Ocean. I should have photos from this trip posted shortly, but sorting through almost 1600 images will take some time.

9/1/2006

Today one of my images won the Photo Of The Day contest, sponsored by Imaging Resource and Canon! Check out my entry, as well as others for this month. There is some tough competition out there.

8/10/2006

Well, after about one month of work, I finally got around to sorting, ordering, and categorizing the 16,600 images in my collection. For this daunting task, I use IMatch digital imaging management from photools.com. It's great stuff!

In other news, I'm now a full member of Wish-Stock.com. This stock agency is one of a kind, and allows buyers to request specific or hard to find images. See my portfolio HERE.

6/25/2006

June has been a busy month, unfortunately I haven't had much to add to the site. I have a bunch of photos waiting in the wings, so stay tuned.

Some of you have asked why I have some banner ads on the site. Well, in order to maintain this site and pay for my photography "habit", I need sponsors. I would very much like to eliminate all the ads from my site, so if you see photos you like, please buy some prints! If I sell enough prints, I'll get rid of ads all together. Happy surfing!

5/5/2006

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

I'm thrilled to announce that today I launched the Beta 3scape e-Postcard product. Now you can send any of my images as an e-Postcard to anyone, anywhere, absolutely free!

As this is just in beta phase, I make no guarantees, but I've tested pretty extensively. If you do have a problem however, or just a suggestion, please feel free to contact me. Happy sending!

4/26/2006

I've reformatted the product purchase options to make things easier on all you buyers out there. I'm also now offering more print options up front, just choose from the drop-down box and add to the shopping cart.
I'm also working on some new products - mailed postcards, and Free instant e-Postcards. I hope to have these available shortly.

4/10/2006

News for photographers just starting out... If you like the photos you've seen on my site, rest assured you can take great pictures too! This book is a great tool for learning digital photography. Granted, nothing beats good old experience, but having the right materials can get you started off on the right track.

Also, if you're already into taking pictures and want to improve your Adobe Photoshop skills, take a look at EasyPhotoshopTips.com

So many gadgets, so little time!! Canon released the brand new EOS 30D Digital SLR camera. 8.2 Megapixels, Digic II processor, 2.5 in. LCD screen, 3-5 frame per second shooting, 9 segment auto focus, the list of features goes on. Anyone want to buy my 10D so I can upgrade??

3/13/2006

I just added a bunch of photos from my last kitchen renovation project. This was a huge undertaking that took me 7 weeks to complete. It was a complete gut job... after much toil and a few scrapes and bruises, I came out with a kitchen I can be proud of. Check out the latest in the Construction section.

3/6/2006

The product line is expanding here at 3scape photos. We're now offering Mugs, Mousepads, and Posters of most images on this website. Further, print prices have dropped! Order a gift for a loved one or some art for your home, office, or dorm. Just check the purchase options on the photos that you're looking at! Here are a few examples...

2/10/2006

Wow, exciting stuff going on here! I am close to finishing part 1 of 3 of my gear list. I still have to work on a few links as well as the "books" and "wish list" sections. I also just added new photos from our trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

I'm looking for feedback and input about the lastest changes and additions to the site! Please contact me if you have any comments for me. Thanks!

2/3/2006

I'm currently working on a gear list which will tell you what sort of photographic equipment and software I use, and what books I've read on the subject. I also plan on adding purchase links for this stuff so you can buy it too. Maybe I should include a wish list too, so some kind hearted soul can buy me some gifts! Just click the new "Gear" tab on the above menu, or click here.

1/30/2006

I found a website today that has all sorts of great video tutorials available for purchase. Included are Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and of course Photoshop CS, which is THE photo manipulation package to use if you're a photographer. Click here if you're interested.

1/2/2006

Great News! I've added a shopping cart to the website, so now you can purchase prints with just a click of the mouse. 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 sizes are available. Other products such as post cards will be available soon.

12/17/2005

It was two months ago that I went to Zion National Park in Utah for a photography workshop with RMSP. Well, I FINALLY got around to adding a bunch of photos from that trip. Click here to see these photos Enjoy!

10/30/2005

This update comes from beautiful Springdale, Utah... home to Zion National Park. All week I will be shooting in the area, since I'm here for a workshop run by the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. I will have photos from this trip up in the next few weeks, stay tuned!

10/11/2005

3scape Photos won the Profotos.com Pro Site Award today! Thanks to Profotos for their support, and all of you for visiting.
Winner of the Profotos Pro Site Award

10/5/2005

It's been an extremely busy number of weeks, unfortunately this site has had no updates because of that. Keep visiting, and I'll hopefully be adding more pictures soon!

8/29/2005

Canon announced the brand new 5D Digital SLR last week, with a whopping 12.7MP full-frame sensor! This thing has some fantastic new features, all of which are detailed on DPReview.com. Looks like I'm going to have to make a lot more money in this business...

8/25/2005

Today I added a "Request Stock" feature to the website, that allows you to send in special requests for stock images. If you don't see anything in the gallery that you need for a project or other need, just ask! I'll search through my collection of about 15,000 images (and counting) to see if I have something for you.

8/22/2005

Well, this is the first of who knows how many news stories for the site. I'm sort of doing this as an experiment, so I'm not sure what all will be in here yet. Here's the news for this week.

I added a news feature to the website. In the near future, I plan on adding additional features, which will be accessible via the top menu bar. I'm taking ideas if anyone has any.

In other news, I've joined a stock photography agency called Wish-Stock.com Check it out, especially if you work with stock photos much. The company is still building its portfolio, as am I.

Well, that's about all the news for today, stay tuned!
